FAQ online courses

FAQ - "Frequently Asked Questions". Here you find questions and answers regarding online courses. If you have further questions please contact  us.
Working with the Neurofeedback hard- and software is an integral part of our courses, especially in the Neurofeedback Online Basic Course. During the practicum, you will slip into the role of “a therapist and a patient". In this way you will gain valuable experience. Ideally, you should therefore register for the course with a colleague. Please note: it is very important that also the second person has a medical or therapeutic background.

The practicum itself is moderated by a lecturer. It takes place in small groups of max. four to five couples - as in our regular courses. There will be a separate online group room for each group for this purpose. Our lecturer will give instructions to the group, but will also support each group individually.
We ask for your understanding that no patients, family members or friends without professional background are allowed to be involved in the practicum. The professional background of the partner is of great importance because you need to develop a deep understanding of Neurofeedback. You have to work concentrated and every participant must be able to clearly articulate how he or she feels during the session. Moreover, the self-awareness is an essential part of the practicum and it must be ensured that you can slip into "the role of the patient" through a specialist, too.

If you do not have the opportunity to complete the course with a colleague please contact us! We will then try to find an individual solution and support you in finding a practicum partner. Of course, this depends on whether other people from your region are interested in the course.
Ideally two people work together during the practicum. There are two main reasons for this: By having small groups of two we can ensure that you will be intensively and well supervised by the instructors during the practicum. And it is very important, that every participant should be able to gain the same experience during the practicum.
If you would like to take part in the course with three people and you simply can not find a fourth colleague to form two teams, please contact us. We will then check individually whether we can guarantee that a group of three can be supervised at the course. Please note, however, that discount offers can usually only be applied to two people.
For our online courses we apply the same high security and quality standards as for our regular courses. Neurofeedback is a safe and mostly side effect free treatment method. However, as with all interventions, undesirable effects may occur in rare cases. These effects, which occur during the session, such as slight nausea or dizziness, can usually be immediately eliminated by correcting the training frequency.

Our company is committed to the responsible use of Neurofeedback and we set ourselves standards that go beyond the usual industry standards. This means for us that we do not admit people without a medical or therapeutic background to our courses. In addition, if you are pregnant or have suffered from severe epilepsy or psychosis in the past, you can take part in the course, but you cannot participate in the self-experience.

Please contact us if you have any questions about this or if you are uncertain due to previous illnesses. We will clarify in advance with the lecturers if you can participate in the practicum. Please also note our general terms of business at this point. Unfortunately, we cannot grant any discounts if you cannot "actively" complete the practical part of the course.
Yes. As in any other basic courses, you will take a test at the end and receive your certificate. You will get the certificate with the course documents or after the course by mail.
Yes. The online course includes the same learning content as the regular Neurofeedback Basic Course. You will also receive the same comprehensive course materials and scripts and will get extensive training in theory and by practical exercises.
We currently offer the Neurofeedback Basic Course and the Neurofeedback Advanced Symposium as well as other indication-specific courses online. You will always find a complete overview on the EEG Info Europe website. We also offer monthly free info webinars and at irregular intervals online expert panels on various topics. With these, you will get well-founded insights into Neurofeedback and they are an ideal preparation for the courses. The advantages of online courses and webinars include planning security, time and cost savings. In the EEG Info Neurofeedback Blog we give you another “6 reasons for EEG Info Online Courses”.
If you book a course organised by BEE Medic, you will usually be redirected from the EEG Info website to the BEE Medic website. There you can add the course to your shopping cart and register during the ordering process. If you are already a customer, you can register as usual with your customer login. Afterwards the customer service will contact you individually, to clarify any open questions about the participants and contact details. Furthermore, we clarify with you which equipment you need for the course. If the booking does not work out or difficulties arise, please contact our customer service. We are happy to support you!
It is up to you to decide from where you want to take part in an online course. A room in the practice is usually a good choice, as this is where you can set up the Neurofeedback setting and immediately experience how Neurofeedback feels in practice. In addition, you can continue practicing directly after the course, if you have already purchased a system. In most cases, there is also enough space and a certain infrastructure which is necessary for the course. For example, you can use your own, already existing Neurofeedback equipment for the practicum sequences in the advanced and indication-specific courses.

Participation is also possible from home, because the NeuroAmp® is a very compact device. Please note, however, that you also have a stable internet connection at home, a laptop for participating in the online conference and an additional laptop or PC for Neurofeedback as well as a separate monitor. Details about the technical equipment can be found in the next paragraph "What are the technical requirements for webinar participation?“. We will be happy to advise you on what equipment you will need and provide it to you on loan for a fee if required. In any case, we recommend that you choose a room in which you can work undisturbed and concentrated.
To participate in the online conference, you will need a laptop or PC with a microphone and camera to see the lecturers and other participants. This laptop or PC will then also be used by a lecturer to guide you during your practicum.

For the practical exercises you will need

  • - an additional laptop or computer
  • - a separate monitor
  • - the NeuroAmp II® or II5.s EEG Amplifier
  • - the Cygnet® Neurofeedback Software
  • - a set of min. 4. electrodes and a jumper
  • - NuPrep Paste, Ten20 Paste
  • - Optional: headphones for the feedback software
We also recommend the following:

  • - Disinfectant alcohol
  • - paper household wipes (to remove paste residues),
  • - distilled water (to clean the electrodes)
  • - a small glass (approx. 250ml) to hang up the electrodes
  • - multiple socket
At first glance this seems a lot. However, we will support you and discuss with you individually in advance what you already have and what you still need for the course. In particular, you can purchase the Neurofeedback equipment in advance or borrow it for the course. In either case we will be happy to help you and make sure that everything is with you before the course starts.
You can of course also take part in the online conference with an Apple laptop or PC. However, please inform us in advance if you would like to use a MAC for the Neurofeedback workstation as well. The Cygnet® Neurofeedback software is designed for Windows. In order for it to run smoothly on Apple computers, small settings are necessary. Our technical support will help you with this.
We always offer a time slot three days before the course starts. During this time, individual appointments are made and a member of staff will help you to set up your laptop correctly for participation in the course, will test the dial-in with you and will show you basic functions such as switching the camera or microphone on and off. In addition, the Neurofeedback workstation is set up together with you. You will see that video conferencing in particular is very convenient and easy to use. And the Neurofeedback setting is also quickly set up, as you will receive everything configured by us. Make sure you use this opportunity! You will receive the invitation for the technique test the week before the course starts.
All you need is a laptop or PC with an internet connection so that you can take part in the online course and in particular see the lecturers and other participants. You do not need to install any extra software. You will receive an invitation from us by e-mail a few days before the course starts with a link to the online course room. Click on this link when the webinar starts and you are already in the video conference.
Yes, especially for the Neurofeedback Online Basic Course, we recommend that you use a headset with microphone or headphones, as this course also involves many discussions and small group work etc. in which you also actively participate. The main advantage of a headset is that background noise is filtered out better, you are better understood when you speak and the other participants can usually hear you better, too.

If you are taking part in the online basic course, it is of course often a good idea for you to share a screen with someone else and follow the theoretical part. You do not need the headset for this. It is then only important that you deactivate your microphone when you are not speaking to the group or the lecturer.

A webcam is also absolutely necessary so that the lecturers can see you and instruct you, especially during your practicum. In laptops nowadays, cameras are already integrated and these are quite sufficient. However, please check your camera settings when you register and make sure that they work and are activated.
You can reach our support team at any time during the course via a telephone number set up specifically for this purpose. You will be informed of this number when you register for the course or at the beginning of the course.
Of course you will sit most of the time, just like in a presence course. However the course formats are very varied, i.e. you do not usually sit passively in front of the laptop for several hours. Rather, there are also discussion groups, small group work and above all the practicum, which takes up a high proportion. Of course you can also set up a standing desk, get up in between, etc. Regularly, there are also enough smaller and longer breaks.
Yes, when your camera is switched on. We encourage you to keep your camera on during the course. It makes it easier for you and the instructors to work together and the course becomes much more personal, as the camera helps to perceive moods, e.g. whether the participants are still concentrated. Of course, you can also switch off the camera in the theoretical part of the course if you want to go up and down or to get a coffee. You don't have to log off or leave the group room. To do this, you can simply switch off the camera and sound at any time. But you'll soon feel comfortable with the camera. However, it is absolutely necessary for the practical training that you have activated the camera continuously.
If you do not want to be seen temporarily, simply deactivate the camera and microphone. These functions are shown to you before the course and also at the beginning.
There is also the possibility to ask questions during an online course. The same rules apply as for normal courses. In most cases, the lecturer clarifies at the beginning of a session if questions should rather be bundled and dealt with at the end of the chapter or if intermediate questions are ok. The latter is usually the case, because participants often have similar questions and the online presentations are more exciting and dynamic for everyone. The only important thing is: make sure that you switch on the microphone when you want to ask a question and switch it off again when you are not speaking. There is also a chat function and all participants have access to the chat. At the beginning of the course you can clarify with the lecturers whether and for which topics you would like to use this chat function.
During the small group work and discussions, you will have a joint exchange of ideas which will be moderated by the lecturers. Although you cannot spend the breaks with the other participants, you always have the opportunity for a moderated exchange of experiences.
Within Germany and Switzerland as well as in most European countries the shipping of equipment for the course is normally free of charge (return shipping by means of a return label). Outside the EU there are usually costs for the return shipment.
